Cancer screening is a crucial component of preventive healthcare for women as it helps detect cancers early when they are most treatable. Regular screening can significantly reduce deaths from cancer of the breast, cervix or bowel and there is equally effective screening strategy for ovarian cancer in women with a family history who therefore are at a high risk.
At AltaVista Clinics, breast examinations and screening for cancer of the cervix in addition to a thorough pelvic ultrasound scan are part of our annual VIP registration package. We will arrange regular screening for you as follows:
- mammograms (breast x-ray) from the age of 40 for breast cancer
- stool tests for colon cancer screening from age 50 to 75 years
- screening with Pap smear and/or HPV testing for cervical cancer
- ultrasound scan and blood test for cancer markers in those at high risk of ovarian cancer
